In 2001, Ty Bledsoe became UC Davis’s first Black Student Body President in more than fifty years, only to be disqualified shortly before September 11 and later reinstated as the most popularly elected Student Body President in UC Davis history. The injustice became a defining test that shaped his leadership, values, and purpose.
